Borderlands 4 Would Most Likely Become the New Favorite for Vault Hunters
Borderlands 4 by Gearbox Software and 2K Games has certainly impressed players, especially with the introduction of the new planet setting and its cool team of Vault Hunters. The upcoming game stands out for its new much more balanced blend of environment-interactive first-person shooter action and randomized loot possibilities, which has been a signature of the series since its inception. Recent entries, such as Borderlands 3 and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, were viewed as lacking the charm of previous entries in the franchise. However, after the preview given to fans at Gamescom 2025, excitement for Borderlands 4 has significantly grown due to return to the roots, the many gameplay improvements and all new character squad.
Set on the totally new planet Kairos, Borderlands 4 introduces players to an all-new powerful antagonist and four fresh Vault Hunter characters, creating a sense of renewed energy. Enhanced movement options, such as spot dodges and air dashes, allow players to avoid attacks much more easily while enjoying the fast-paced combat mechanics. The incredible addition of a grappling hook feature offers players quick traversal within the level areas, allowing for much more vertical advantages and unique interactions with the environment.
The variety of weapons has been improved, featuring various parts from familiar manufacturers along with new ones included for that extra punch when shooting. The game’s motto, "Less borders, more lands," definitely reflects an intentional design choice that showcases larger maps filled with enemy camps, secrets and dynamic events, making the exploration aspect of the title so enjoyable for players.
The dialogue exchanges in Borderlands 4 are more balanced compared to its predecessors, avoiding the overly obnoxious humorous tone, while still managing to deliver some decent laughs. Additionally, the soundtrack has grabbed the attention of players and it received a lot of praise for being layered right this time around, enhancing the overall experience and dynamics.
Borderlands 4 promises better general performance and improved battle mechanics from the fresh cast of characters, which is going to equate to tons of fun and engaging gameplay for all that join the action. The title is set to launch on September 12th, 2025 for most gaming outlets such as PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version planned to arrive to market a bit later, on October 3rd.
Black Ops 7 is Bringing Wallrunning Back and a Replayable Endgame in the Campaign
During the Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live we got presented with a new and fresh look at Call of Duty Black Ops 7 by Raven Software, Treyarch and Activision, confirming the initially leaked release date as November 14. This is sort of the “second” reveal of the title, but it had a much more detailed presentation than the initial teaser we got earlier this year from the Xbox Showcase held in June.
The showcase highlighted a lot of the new features that are present in this entry of the series, including a four-player co-op campaign with an interesting twist: the final mission, called Endgame, is actually a replayable, open-world experience, as it is a section that manages to incorporate some RPG features and even extraction elements.
The storyline for the game is set in the near future, approximately ten years after Black Ops 2 took place, noting it as the first continuation for a Black Ops title in the Call of Duty series. Players will be able customize their loadouts and dive deep in the missions in order to level up and gain new battle abilities to overcome the obstacles.
The game would also introduce a set of futuristic weapons and exciting locations, with a very strong focus on movement mechanics, enhancing upon the Omnimovement system we got from Black Ops 6 and a detail that highlighted this was the reintroduction of wallrunning abilities for players to enjoy.
Additionally, the popular round-based Zombies gameplay mode is going to now feature vehicles and would also deliver new Survival maps. While multiplayer details are still scarce, they will be fully revealed on September 30 during Call of Duty: Next, and an open beta will be available from October 2.
Not all things are going smooth for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 though, as it faces against serious competition from Battlefield 6, which has also been met with record-breaking beta participation and actively climbs to reach for the ultimate popularity ranks in the genre. Who would win this FPS rivalry? We would have to wait and see as it is truly a severe competition to the top!
Little Nightmares III Pushes Through The Bounds Of Horror
The Carnevale served as the main setting for the demo of the Supermassive Games & Bandai/Namco collab title Little Nightmares III at Gamescom 2025, effectively creating an eerie atmosphere that felt like a twisted memory from childhood. At first the fairground appeared colorful and inviting, yet each tiny detail carries a sense of utter unease. The demo explores the contrasting feelings of wonder and dread all at once, prompting players to navigate through the carnival level cautiously.
In Little Nightmares III the Carnevale is quite distinct, moving away from dark corridors formula to an entire concept project that, while somewhat vibrant, feels unsettling. Players would encounter strange beings called The Herd, which adds an interesting layer to the already poised tension. Throughout the demo, participants must balance their curiosity with the instinct to hide. The level encourages exploration while maintaining a sense of true discomfort.
As a crucial part of the gameplay, the Carnevale acts as a puzzle box where every element could be used strategically against the enemy creatures. Players can manipulate objects to distract enemies or create chaotic situations to find a way through obstacles. The Little Nightmares III characters, Low and Alone, navigate their environment using tools creatively rather than relying solely on combat skills. This design emphasizes that survival is about thinking differently, not just moving quickly with brute force.
The relationship between Low and Alone adds depth to the gameplay. As a couple of scared children rather than traditional mighty heroes, their cooperation highlights the importance of trust and cooperation. They would support each other in order to solve the various puzzles and somehow escape the threats, creating a strong bond that offers brief moments of relief amid all of the tension. Even when played solo, the connection between the Little Nightmares III characters feels real through the AI involvement to assist the player when appropriate.
Overall, the Carnevale embodies a disturbing reinterpretation of childhood trauma. Although it contains familiar elements like rides and candy, they appear menacing rather than comforting. The unsettling environment, paired with the unique mechanics and cooperative gameplay, indicates that the Little Nightmares III game is seriously aiming to further deepen player engagement, while emphasizing over the immense vulnerability you would have to manage with in this scary world. The level challenges players to be aware, adapt, and confront their fear in a place that constantly feels hostile.
This entry in the Little Nightmares series will release by the end of 2025 on all major platforms such as the PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, as well as the Nintendo Switch!

‘Dying Light: The Beast’ Punches the Brutality Levels to an Absolute Extreme at Gamescom 2025
Diving back into very scary territory Dying Light: The Beast marks the return of the conceptual FPS survival-horror gameplay with the protagonist Kyle Crane in the main role, who has managed to escape from the brutal experimentation procedures performed on him.
Now, he must somehow find a way deal with what would be best described as his dual nature state, having both human and zombie DNA infused in his body, as he seeks to inflict his bitter revenge upon the responsible captor – The Baron, who has caused all of the problems and damage to his body in the first place.
The game features seriously aggressive combat features, where players would be able to unleash beast-like powers to defeat the various enemies across the gameplay in Dying Light: The Beast. The journey is not without its rough edges though, as Kyle is having serious trouble to exercise control over his condition and at times loses the grip over his inner monster, causing him to go progressively more aggressive.
The Dying Light: The Beast gameplay dynamics shift between day and night; players are able to go scavenging during daylight, but face increased dangers at night, which can lead to the need of quick decisions in order to escape or go into a fight without any certainty of survival.
The game's setting, Castor Woods, has been heavily inspired by the Swiss Alps and includes a variety of environments such as creepy forests and ruins, abandoned mansions and industrial zones that effectively highlight themes of both survival and decay at the same time.
Players are able to use fluid first-person parkour maneuvers to navigate through the open world, whether running around the infested city or by using different vehicles to fight against the zombies. Cooperative play allows for up to four players to team up, with shared progression available, thus further enhancing the experience. Dying Light: The Beast is set for release on 19 September 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The Incredible Feedback to the Resident Evil Requiem Gameplay Shown at Gamescom 2025
During the Gamescom 2025's Day 1 we had a feature of Capcom's long-awaited reveal for the Resident Evil Requiem gameplay and it definitely generated a lot of buzz in the room. Fans truly appreciated the upcoming game's chilling atmosphere, dark storyline and very much improved mechanics that really make a return to the survival horror origin of the notorious series.
The gameplay trailer set a haunting tone quite easily, with the depiction of foggy streets and monstrous new enemies that instilled dread instantly. Key features of the new Resident Evil title include an exploration-heavy design, essential resource management, atmospheric horror emphasizing tension and creeping sound, as well as advanced visual graphics and effects through the use of Capcom's signature RE Engine. The gameplay favors a slower pace, focusing on exploration, puzzles and survival instead of pure action.
The storyline unfolds in a remote European town with a long history of bio-weapon research and testing, centering on a brand-new protagonist, Eleanor Cruz, a former researcher turned survivor. While Capcom has kept many of the details a secret, the narrative hints at connections to previous entries such as Resident Evil Village and other popular games the franchise has.
Gameplay mechanics are reminiscent of earlier installments, featuring limited inventory space, backtracking and mysterious puzzles that enhance the tension and mood. New enemies like The Wraiths and The Choir have also been introduced further emphasizing the game's main focus on horror design.

Resident Evil Requiem promises to honor the franchise's past while aiming to set a completely new standard in survival horror, making it one of the most anticipated games of 2025.
CRONOS: The New Dawn Trailer Blended Reality During Gamescom 2025
Staying on topic with horror, at the Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live, Bloober Team (currently best known for their work on the Silent Hill 2 Remake) released an eerie and quite the atmospheric new cinematic trailer clip for the upcoming third-person survival horror game, Cronos: The New Dawn.
The trailer showed fans the haunting ruins of New Dawn in incredible detail and follows through the desolate and wrecked landscape of the masterfully-crafted world, before introducing us to The Traveler. Players are going to experience intense encounters with terrifying creatures known as The Orphans, on top of all that, the whole thing was set to the soundtrack of “Sixteen Days / Gathering Dust” by This Mortal Coil, making it even greater in its scale.
The footage featured a unique cat’s-eye view that transforms the ordinary into surreal landscapes frozen in time of destruction and chaos. The Traveler, a main character from the game even made a surprising appearance on stage in cosplay, thus enhancing the connection between the game and reality further.
Cronos: The New Dawn tells a powerful original story set in New Dawn, which is a reimagined version of the Nowa Huta district in Kraków, Poland. The narrative spans across two different timelines: a post-apocalyptic future and the industrial realities of the 1980s. This setting makes great work of combining retro realism with the dystopian elements, creating an immersive world full of grueling tension and the psychological depth of mystery.
Cronos: The New Dawn is set for release on September 5, 2025, for multiple platforms such as Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Windows PC (via Steam and Epic) and the Nintendo Switch 2. Zero Parades - an Upcoming Spy Fantasy RPG Coming from Creators of Disco Elysium
The Disco Elysium developer ZA/UM has also revealed its upcoming role-playing game, Zero Parades, during the Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live showcase with an interesting official announcement trailer.
The game is mostly described as a story-rich sci-fi spy RPG with a bit of a retro-futuristic feel where players assume the role of a mentally troubled "operative" that is akin to a secret agent character. The mission involves gathering a previously broken team network of other disbanded spies, while navigating a complex web of concerning and sometimes even conflicting thoughts, intrigue and disorder in a setting cleverly named as the “End of History”.
The hosts at Gamescom noted that the team at ZA/UM has experienced significant changes since their previous game, Disco Elysium and highlighted that the new crew is ready to share their fresh project with the world, where truth could be much stranger than the fiction that goes around.
The trailer video featured a lot of cool concept art, sketches and raw footage, heavily indicating that Zero Parades is still in its earlier stages of development, but at the same time on track with the schedule that the team has for it.
The game's art style closely resembles that of Disco Elysium (but it was pointed out that they do not share the same universe or timeline) and even though the official launch date is not yet announced, players can already wishlist this upcoming title on Steam.

Gamescom 2025 Served New Silent Hill F Trailer with new details and an English Voice Cast
Last but certainly not least, we have a title that we had just made a blog post about - Silent Hill f, but a new trailer for the game was released during Gamescom Opening Night Live, showcasing the game's English voice cast for the first time and some other new peculiar details about the storyline in this upcoming Konami title.
While many of the story's details are still quite unclear, the new footage featured a young man in a fox mask who speaks to the protagonist Hinako about how she had saved his life and he would return the favor by saving her soul and taking away her old self. The trailer initially showed a messy crime scene with radio chatter and shifted towards scenes where Hinako was exploring more of the shrines and temples in what would be “the other world” setting.
Otherwise, even though the gameplay appeared rather similar to previous promo materials of the Silent Hill f game, with Hinako exploring in fright while getting attacked by monstrous and gory creatures, but this time she was guided by the man in the fox mask and his blue lantern.
A very notable moment was when Hinako was going around an alternate version of her home armed with a polearm and even found herself standing behind a different version of herself in utter confusion.
Suzie Yeung voices Hinako in the English version of the game and was recognized and praised by fans for her roles in popular series such as Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Chainsaw Man.
