At the start, you’ll chop trees, mine ore, and craft simple machines by hand. Before long, you can evolve into an industrial powerhouse, managing sprawling solar fields, advanced oil refining, automated logistics networks, and fleets of construction and logistic robots — all working together to meet your growing resource demands.
But relentless industrial expansion comes at a cost. The planet’s native inhabitants won’t tolerate heavy exploitation forever, and you’ll need to defend your factory against increasingly aggressive attacks.
Join forces with other players in cooperative multiplayer to design enormous factory complexes. Collaborate, divide responsibilities, and optimize production chains with friends to achieve peak efficiency.
Factorio features robust modding support from the ground up. Choose from small quality-of-life improvements or complete gameplay overhauls created by a global community of modders, adding fresh mechanics and new challenges to your experience.
Beyond the core freeplay mode, Factorio offers a variety of scenarios that introduce unique objectives and constraints. If you want full creative control, use the in-game Map Editor to design your own worlds, place terrain and enemies, and even implement custom scripts to shape entirely new gameplay experiences.
There are currently no plans to participate in sales or reduce the price in the foreseeable future.
