Monthly Recap – June Edition

Monthly Recap – June Edition

We are already at the end of the second quarter for the year and the summer is already giving us so many updates and cool information on a lot of gaming titles and events. We tried our best to gather some of the more exciting pieces, although it is quite difficult to contain everything in just one single post as there is simply so much to talk of, but here goes!

What were the Highlights We Got During the Summer Game Fest 2025

We kick-off things with as many of the highlights from one of the most important gaming events of the year, namely the annual Summer Game Fest 2025 which took place between the dates of June 6 – 8 in LA.

It showcased lots of trailers for many of the most interesting upcoming games for both the last-gen consoles as well as the PC. It followed both the events for the launch of Nintendo Switch 2 and Sony's recent State of Play and delivered on even more awesome gaming titles.

Summer Game Fest is typically a collection of events that take place over the whole weekend and here is our short summary from it. As per usual there were many panels and showcases including Day of the Devs, Women-Led Games, IOI Showcase as well as some more international presentations with games from various specific regions like Latin American Games Showcase and Southeast Asian Games Showcase, but also segments dedicated only to PC and Xbox games at which we finally got the first look at the long-rumored Xbox handheld.

There were many new games and sequels that got revealed during the event including titles such as Code Vein 2, Mortal Shell 2 and Seven Deadly Sins Origin. Another great surprise came with Resident Evil: Requiem as well as the premiere for Death Stranding 2. There were also materials for the likes of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, Ball X Pit, Sonic Racing: Cross Worlds, Lies of P: Overture and even a Deadpool VR title.

As for the PC Gaming Show part of the event there was time dedicated to games such as Ambrosia Sky, Far Far West, Fresh Tracks, Terminull Brigade, Ratatan, Moomintroll, Necesse, Den of Wolves, All Systems Dance, Spooky Express, The Rogue Prince of Persia, Enginefall, EVE Frontier, SkyRig, Kaizen: A Factory Story, Dawn Apart, Modulus, Generation Exile, The Alters, Pathfinder: Abomination Vaults, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault, Barotrauma: Home and Harbor, No, I'm Not a Human, Botsu, No More Room in Hell 2, Farever, Mandrake, Pizza Bandit, Demonschool, The Last Caretaker as well as lots of other cool titles. However, a couple of the major standouts were the upcoming James Bond title 007 First Light and Warhammer 40K: Darktide as well as the title we are going to discuss next:

Is Clockwork Revolution possibly the next level in shooters?

Even though the trailer for the upcoming FPS action role-playing game by inXile entertainment Clockwork Revolution during the Xbox Games Showcase was actually quite long it kept going on and on full of interesting moments, and we would totally need to do a review on it alone, but for now here is a quick version of what you could expect from the game in a relatively short summary!

Clockwork Revolution is going to feature time-bending combat mechanics, complex roleplaying systems as well as detailed character creation and weapon modification options. It manages to merge a more than a couple of time-periods and abstract concepts into one and that is quite charming, humorous but also retains a bit of a violent tone and polished aesthetic.

Players are going to use a special device known as the Chronometer, which is a time-traveling machine of sorts that gives players the ability to shift time back and forth, find some way to alter the past and after that to come back to the present and actually experience the effects on the timeline and world caused by the decisions you have made. In this way whole regions around the world would drastically change and alter visually depending on what you choose to do, so be careful with each step or chat you make as they could have dire consequences.

During the previewed gameplay and cutscene moments there were character introductions, intense dialogues and awesome glimpses of first-person shooting action with a wide range of muskets, shotguns and other interestingly looking types. The weapons you could use in Clockwork Revolution effectively combine Steampunk technological modifications with late 19th-century firearm elements from the Victorian era, including revolvers, lever-action repeaters and heavily-modified Gatling guns, all of them with deep and intricate weapon customization possibilities for greater precision and deadlier power at the scattered across the Clockwork Revolution gameplay world benches.

A title to definitely be on the lookout for since the game is set to be released for Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S. As of now the specific release date is still not announced but we do know that the title is going to be available in due time on Xbox Game Pass at launch.

A Quick Overview for The Blood of Dawnwalker

Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by CD Projekt RED veterans, is currently developing a very ambitious open-world RPG that is set in 14th-century war-torn Europe at the time when the Black Plague was quite widely-spread. The Blood of Dawnwalker features a half-vampire protagonist named Coen, as he navigates through a highly-detailed world packed with a huge range of dynamic gameplay mechanics.

Some of the key highlights to keep in mind include unique Day/Night gameplay cycle since daytime could actually limit your health regeneration abilities while nighttime allows for much better options when it comes to feeding on humans or other creatures. Another curiosity to mention here is that the player is able to decide on the feeding intensity (with both non-lethal and fatal being available).

When it comes to battles and progression we are getting a directional combat system that Is somewhat similar to Kingdom Come: Deliverance as well as three skill trees: Human, Vampire, and a Shared one. Your vampiric abilities include skills such as Shadowstep, Focus Mode and Planeshift as well as many others available to use in your favor.

Apart from your main mission to obtain and retrieve a deadly weapon, the world has many side activities and quests, from exploring specific locations to sabotaging blood caravans and defeating the local bandits. Player choices do matter a lot and they impact the game world and narrative in. The Blood of Dawnwalker, so be sure that there would be consequences in case you kill off an important character.

Scheduled for release some time in 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series S|X as well as the PC, The Blood of Dawnwalker promises a deep, choice-driven RPG experience with innovative ideas and a dark, immersive setting, so make sure to follow its development in the coming months, but for now let’s move to our next cool piece of gaming news.

2.5 Million Unique Players have Already Played in Rematch since its June 19 Release

Rematch is a multiplayer soccer game made by Sloclap it is available on Xbox Game Pass, Steam and PlayStation and has achieved a truly significant player count and engagement since its launch this June. The title had quite the surge, easily attracting 1 million unique players within just the first 24 hours and then spreading like wild fire by managing to get the striking 2.5 million players across all of its platforms in less than a month.

The road has not been that smooth though as the developer acknowledges the technical challenges such massive success could have as an effect, particularly with crossplay implementation and has committed to addressing these issues.

Sloclap is actively working on greater crossplay features development, improvements in server stability as well as other online performance enhancements such as additional gameplay and competitive features to further expand and strengthen on the player experience.

While promising the continued support and updates, the studio has asked players for patience, noting their team's limited size and the complexity of implementing new features would require time. On the other hand players have already engaged significantly with Rematch, and statistics already show the scoring for millions of goals across more than 12 million matches played since the June 19 launch.

The Original Silent Hill Remake by Bloober Team got Announced

Perhaps, keeping the best for last and especially after following the great feedback from last year’s Silent Hill 2 Remake, it got officially announced that Bloober Team is developing a remake of the original Silent Hill game entry in the iconic survival-horror series.

Konami officially announced this at their Konami Press Start Live showcase and it got fans super hyped about the possibilities. The remake is being again closely developed in collaboration with Konami, similar to the Silent Hill 2 remake, but currently there's no specific release date or timeframe given yet.

As you probably may already know the original Silent Hill story follows Harry Mason in search of his missing 7-year-old daughter Cheryl after they crashed “by accident” in the mysterious town of Silent Hill. Using only what you manage to find in the streets and buildings around you would have to somehow manage by using a half-broken handheld radio, flashlight, some maps and the limited weapon options.

As Harry searches through the foggy streets to desperately find his daughter, he soon begins to discover the pieces of her true connection to the sinister town.

The Silent Hill gameplay usually focuses on psychological horror motifs and terrible monster creatures that get manifested from the darkest nightmarish corners of the mind from the characters in the game. Unlike other similar titles in the genre, the protagonists in Silent Hill are not typically trained in any type of combat, but rather you play as an everyday person who does feel helpless quite often throughout the game, which is exactly one of the main ingredients in a thrilling entry in the series.

This is far from the only project around the franchise being in focus as currently the main part of the attention is towards the upcoming Silent Hill f, speculation about the possibilities or even need for a Silent Hill 3 remake or the rumored brand new project Silent Hill townfall, so there is definitely lots going on in the fan-favorite town of horrors.

With this we conclude our June overview of important things in gaming and would like to assure you that we are going to keep you informed and excited with lots more throughout the whole summer, so stay tuned for more gaming reviews and promos by us!
