Little Nightmares III: Terrifying New Worlds Revealed in Latest Showcase

Little Nightmares III: Terrifying New Worlds Revealed in Latest Showcase

Welcome back, little Visitor. It has been some time since you were last in this grim world, but we are delighted to see you return to the Spiral, eager to uncover the secrets behind one of the most haunting amusements that you are going to encounter in the upcoming Little Nightmares III release, since this time is a bit more mysterious, but still very much an atmospheric adventure game that would take you on the rather dark and twisted journey of the two main characters in the title, Alone and Low. They found themselves being trapped in a nightmarish world called the Nowhere.

Even though there were quite a few hurdles and delays along the way, the wait is finally eased with the recent announcement of the Little Nightmares III release date that is now set on 10.10.2025 (just in time for spooky season) and we are quite excited to discover what this next entry in the franchise has to offer. The upcoming Little Nightmares title is going to be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the Xbox One, Windows PC via the Little Nightmares III Steam version as well as both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo  Switch 2 platforms.

Developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment in a recent dedicated Little Nightmares III showcase we got more insight about features mechanics and scenes included in the game. It was stated that the Little Nightmares III game would offer a unique cooperative experience, thus allowing players to play either with another friend in the co-op mode or go for it solo with an AI companion that would support them on the dangerous adventure, since the plot of the game revolves around two young friends that are lost in a frightening world not exactly designed or made for children. If are not able to find your way out of this place in the middle of Nowhere, then you would be doomed to a fate much worse than death itself.

In this review we are going to focus on various aspects of the cutesy (but still quite disturbing) game, as we go through the Little Nightmares III gameplay, story, features and pre-order perks. Prepare yourself for a chilling journey into the freshly unveiled chapter of Little Nightmares III with us and let’s dive deeper into the horrors that await us in this otherwise very well designed and gorgeous game that it seems to be. Let’s start immediately and jump right in!

Nowhere is a Place, Which you Would Not Escape Easily

Get ready to once again set your foot into the unusual world of Little Nightmares and enter the Nowhere - a vast, surreal realm, which you could access only through dreams. In this place most if not all of the odds are very cruelly stacked against you and are definitely not in your favor. In here, only the children brave enough to trust their wits and are able to effectively manage to support each other to overcome obstacles stand a somewhat slight chance of making it out.

This is a morbidly dark world that is build with intent for obscurity and oddities, where the twisted malice of chaotic disorder is ever-present, constantly shifting into new, more and more terrifying shapes while it is spawning a plethora of sinister Residents to inhabit them.

Face All of your Childhood Fears Together and Manage to Survive

As we already pointed out in Little Nightmares III you are going to play as the characters of Low and Alone, best friends ever since they found each other by chance in this lonely nightmare. Each of them has their own unique and useful item: Low has a bow to shoot arrows and Alone is equipped with a handy wrench.

United by their quest to find an escape, the two have managed to survive countless ordeals through cooperation and quick thinking, just like each Visitor who might have tried before them, but has most likely failed miserably, especially if they were on their own and partnerless. By learning to work together, Low and Alone have become adept experts at sneaking around through the various hidden passages in the Nowhere, finding clever ways to support each other in order to overcome the massive obstacles, while of course watching their backs as a true team does.

The environment is full of hidden clues and new possibilities for the more imaginative among the players to exploit as best as they can. Low’s arrows may reach high targets, cut through ropes or take down flying enemies, while Alone’s wrench is just the right deadly tool to crush stunned enemies, smash through barriers or manipulate the surroundings, since you may need to very often alter the mechanism and workings of the massive machines you discover on your dangerous journey through the depths of the Nowhere. The Little Nightmares III gameplay we've seen so far shows off many elements, such as puzzle-like sections in which the pair works together in order to move boxes, make it across a platform or slide through a ledge with an umbrella.

You could pick between playing with a friend or an A.I. companion, that the devs promise to balance quite well so that it would not be neither too clever or dim, so be sure to get ready for some cooperative tactics as you are going to heavily depend on each other's individual items and skills in order to create the necessary opportunities to help you overcome the difficulties and make solid progress. Let’s now get a better understanding of whom you might stumble upon in the Little Nightmares III gameplay…

Dive Into The Spiral - A Disturbing Adventure Full of Ruin and Pain

You should definitely not get too easily distracted by the destructive beauty of the Nowhere as you roam around. There are dark forces waiting for you as Low and Alone follow their path across the Spiral as your risky journey takes you to different odd places such as for example the Carnevale, a creepy funfair full of zombified crowds, flicker and noise. Every next location you reach and enter is going to be increasingly more dangerous and haunting than the previous one. As you go through these mysterious areas traumatic flashbacks would begin to set the pieces of the puzzle for you to understand and figure out.

Everywhere you go, the attractions are going to present you to their uniquely odd concepts full of a distinct cast of horrific monster enemies. These so-called Residents often have a broken puppet doll or toy like aesthetic, but have no strings attached to their bodies, making them seem like sentient creatures without an obvious master, but surely someone is controlling them, right?. They would not hesitate, even for a moment, to go out of their way to capture any pesky little Visitors that draw their attention as they really hate intruders on the premises. Dodging the deadly attacks of Heavy Feet while running along the rain-soaked alleys of the filthy amusement park would certainly prove to be quite challenging. Here are a few other situations that may or may not occur in the Little Nightmares III gameplay:

You may find yourself unwillingly participating in a tough game of hide and seek against Monster Baby while going through the sandy ruins of the Necropolis, possibly having difficulty to avoid the incoming swarms of vicious Candy Weevils in a weird Candy Factory.

You would have to always be ready to run, hide and defend yourself so that you are able to stay in one piece. Now, they believe to have found a possible way out - a chance to leave this cruel and twisted world behind, but reaching the destination would demand great amounts of courage, stealthy enough movement and certain levels of cooperation. Are Low and Alone finally going to escape from this eternal nightmare? Only you could help them do that...

The Editions of Little Nightmares III that would be Available and the Pre-Order Perks:

Apart from the Little Nightmares III Standard Edition there would also be a Little Nightmares III Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes the Secrets of The Spiral - Expansion Pass, as well as the Residents Costumes Pack for exclusive skins.

Another available option would be the Little Nightmares III Collector “Mirror Edition”, which adds even more cool content, an awesome figurine, a metal case, a physical artbook, the OST in both digital and physical format and some slick stickers.

Last but not least comes the Little Nightmares III Premium Collector “Spiral Edition”, which is going to be exclusive in its availability to only the Bandai Namco Store. It contains the Collector “Mirror Edition” figurine, further enhanced with a music box base, a Nome controller/phone holder as well as a fancy coin with the likes of Low and Alone on each of its sides.

Little Nightmares III Pre-orders are going to grant you with access to the Dark Six Costumes Set for all of the platforms. When Pre-Ordering a digital copy of the game you would get the early access of LITTLE NIGHTMARES ENHANCED EDITION for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC. There would also be the Secrets of The Spiral - Expansion Pass, which includes two more added chapters to explore and discover, but have in mind that details around that are promised to be officially explained at a later stage, as well as an exclusive Costumes Set featuring a character that fans might already be familiar with to some extent.

Another thing to mention here is the fact that Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition was announced separately for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Windows PC with a release date also fixed for October 10, 2025. Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition is going to bring Six’s story to a completely new level of terrific, because of the many technical improvements such as volumetric lightning and ray tracing, as well as some gameplay tweaks like optimized checkpoint placement, allowing even more players to discover Six’s journey through the Maw. Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition is going to be available right away to players who pre-order a digital copy of the Little Nightmares III steam version for the Windows PC or the ones for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S.

It seems that the Little Nightmares series is going to continue its expansion beyond video games, as several other projects have also been recently introduced, spanning through a greater variety of media types such as comic books, podcasts and much more merch. One standout game announcement from the Little Nightmares Showcase was the Little Nightmares Vr: Altered Echoes, which has been give to Iconik Studio for development.

Little Nightmares III Similar Games to Enjoy While Waiting

There are at least several games out there that offer a similar experience to Little Nightmares, particularly in their more atmospheric horror, puzzle-platforming aspects, but also the tense sense of helplessness. Inside and Limbo come first to mind, as they are both developed by Playdead and are frequently pointed to as excellent choice options for those who have truly enjoyed the concepts in the Little Nightmares gameplay and its mystical narrative style.

Other notable titles worthy of a mention would include White Shadows, Shady Part of Me, Bramble: The Mountain King, A Juggler's Tale, and Darq, since each of them brings their unique features and elements to the genre. The upcoming Reanimal from Tarsier Studios, the creators behind the original Little Nightmares games, would be another interesting title to definitely watch out for in the coming months.

With this we conclude our review of the upcoming Little Nightmares III game and we hope you found it informative and useful. Until next time as we continue to keep you posted about anything interesting in the world of gaming, stay tuned for more!
