Beyond the Main Story: The Best Things to Do in GTA 6

Welcome back to Vice City!
Even though we have already made a more detailed review with predictions and information about GTA 6 in the past, things have definitely become clearer and the updates over the past few months have been full with new exciting details and we need to add them to the blog. Finally, after a more than a couple of delays, there has even been a confirmed GTA 6 release date that should absolutely be included in the article, and that would be 19.11.26!
To this moment, we know bits and pieces about the main narrative, characters and general setting of the GTA 6 Rockstar project, but today we wanted to focus more on some of the possible activities that could be discovered beyond the main story, so here are the best things to do in GTA 6, especially when you are looking for some fun and cool stuff off of the beaten gameplay path.
Have in mind that these are speculative and not entirely confirmed, but rather based on already released footage from the available GTA 6 trailers and some of the online leaks that we have overviewed up to now, so they could turn out to be just for show or actually real (in either case, take them with a grain of salt and as pure potential, at least for now)! We have arranged them in alphabetical order, so that does not mean that they keep any priority to one another!
Ready to ride through the streets with us and go sightseeing in the most anticipated GTA game to date? Put on your best drip and hop in the YUPLAY review wagon with us and let’s begin the tour immediately!
Amusement Park
While not shown in great detail, a particular shot that occurred during the GTA 6 Trailer 2 presented us with a huge Ferris Wheel, located somewhere near the center of Leonida. A great number of other smaller venues were placed under the main attraction as well, which could be suggesting that we would be able to visit this location and possibly ride the Ferris Wheel and engage with any other mini-games that could typically be associated with such a place. We could possibly win prizes or get collectibles from participating in some of these fair games, especially at the shooting range or the more arcade ones like Whack-a-mole.
Basketball Games
To the side of a recent gameplay screenshot that was revealed on May 6th, 2025, we got a better first look at a training ground with basketball courts in GTA 6. NPCs could be seen on the courts, with one of them shooting free throws, while the rest observed from behind. Could this hint at the opportunity to join in Basketball matches and do some hoops between missions? We cannot say for sure how deep in the details would such a basketball mini-game be, as it might be only free-throw shootouts or other quick games such as the popular HORSE. There is no confirmation that we will be able to even play entire matches against/with NPC characters or other human players, but it would certainly be a cool idea to have that option.
Caged Fights
A completely new addition that is potentially arriving for GTA 6 could be a form of Mixed Martial Arts caged fights that we might observe, bet on or even participate in as a fighter. At one point in the recent GTA 6 Trailer 2, Lucia was seen performing a high kick on a male opponent wearing red shorts, all of this happening inside the structure of a steel cage. Although she was not exactly dressed for the UFC octagon ring, but it appeared as though hand-to-hand combat could be an optional side-activity for the main protagonists. Perhaps you could earn additional cash/rep from these fights or win by placing the right bets with the bookies, we would have to wait and see for sure, but definitely an interesting idea!
Deep Diving
After its initial introduction in GTA 5, diving could be marking a comeback with greater power for the GTA 6 release. You may just be able to grab some scuba gear such as masks, flippers and oxygen tanks at specific and designated shore locations and then go diving to the bottom of the underwater floor as well as interact with some of the wildlife that you would find there. Just like in the previous installment of the GTA series, there could even be some hidden treasures to discover and loot or perhaps an array of other mysteries that await us under the surface level of things.
Drinking Alcohol
This one would definitely be an enriching experience, since we noticed plenty of alcohol that could be actually consumed in GTA 6. Numerous previewed scenes throughout the first two official GTA 6 trailers showed characters having drinks at a few of the more distinct nightlife locations, suggesting it would possibly be a common activity throughout the gameplay. Even though it was not explicitly confirmed, it also looks as if going clubbing is going to be an accessible option choice too, thus allowing you to dress up for a proper night out around the city club scene.
Exercising Routines
It is still not completely confirmed, but when we made a comparison between the first two trailers it seemed like there is the actual possibility that bodily enhanced effects are going to be back for this entry in the Grand Theft Auto series as well, much like it was the case in previous entries such as San Andreas, where regularly working out would help CJ lose extra weight and gain muscle power, this same system looks to be back once again in some shape or form. An example we could point to regarding this showed Lucia framed in the gym as she was hitting a punching bag with her fists wrapped.
Fishing Activities
This one could just be a purely cinematic moment and not a completely developed in-game activity, but if we know a thing or two about the hints and suggestions as well as the speculative nature of the most anticipated upcoming entry in the leading Rockstar franchise, it is that they definitely like to deliver far more than what is expected on their products. So, having that important detail in mind, it could absolutely be a real possibility that there is some sort of fishing activity included in GTA VI, since we did notice Jason with a fishing rod in hand, catching some kinds of fishes.
Hot Coffee
During the second GTA 6 trailer there was a ton of shots depicting steamy close-up physical activity. Even though such ideas have sparked controversy in the past entries to the GTA series, there could still be multiple scenes that entail intimate moments happening between either the main criminal duo or involving side-characters that get a piece of the action, so we would not eliminate the potential for some sort of come back of the “Hot Coffee” take in order to stir up even more hype around the title. Just the mere mention of the term would turn the heads of critics around, plus Jason and Lucia are both physically attractive and have actually been just recently reunited, so that could also trigger their more basic instincts in some manner.
Hunting Activities
There seems to have been some attention given to hunting in GTA 6, with showcased NPCs who were going on their own hunts that take place at various locations in the wilderness. Some of these could be more typical, where tracking and shooting off a hog or two is the overall goal, but others could be more criminal in their nature, suggesting pouching for protected species or even headhunting campaigns that target rivals or bounty. There was even a screenshot that previewed police forces during a pursuit of a hunter that had captured three alligators in the back of their truck.
Kayaking Opportunities
We finally got our first official preview of kayaking opportunities in GTA VI with some of the newer screenshot leaks, and this could have actually confirmed such standalone activities to be practiced in the river waters. We would have to wait it out a bit longer, but there is a slight chance that such types of water sports could feature their own kinds of races. Another potential here is that we could experience some sort of guided tours, or there might be a few moments that involve dangerous rapids to traverse through in the missions and a mechanic like that could be used on at least a couple of occasions during the gameplay.
Mini Golf
GTA 5 presented fans with a fully-fledged golfing course, but this time it looks like mini-golf is going to be at the focus instead. We do know for a fact that there would be at least one mini-golf park location (with the potential for more of them popping up) that is available in Leonida, and there is a pretty high chance that players could be allowed to interact with it for a bit of casual golfing fun in-between the deadly missions.
Pool/Billiards
The GTA 6 Trailer 2 also shed some light for us at a pool table that could possibly be available in the list of GTA 6 side activities, and it is actually coming to no surprise. Pool has been a regular staple in the more recent GTA entries, so it is not such a big shock to see it being available in bar locations around Leonida as it is a classic mini game that players favor anyway. Nonetheless, it would most likely be improved upon from previous iterations and would offer a better experience in order for it to attract the crowd.
Strip Clubs
Surely, this one is going to be a popular activity once again, since strip clubs are back in the GTA 6 release and they are scattered everywhere you go. It looks like some of the key characters are seemingly go to these fine establishments quite often and even earlier leaked materials showed Jason walking around one. An activity like this is quite fitting for the general style of the GTA series and even though we do not know the details surrounding it, it would probably be a worthwhile experience to check them out if you got some spare cash to burn through.
Tennis Matches
While we have not particularly seen anything concrete to suggest games of tennis would again be available in GTA 6, we did notice a tennis court in the background of a screenshot. Taking into consideration the fact that most of the work on that type of mini game was already covered in the GTA 5 release, it is quite likely probable that we would find an upgraded version of tennis matches that would mark a return in the GTA 6 gameplay.
Vehicle Races
Vehicular races have been a regular entry in the Grand Theft Auto list of available activities and they are surely going to be back once again for the GTA 6 entry in the series, so there would be plenty of them involved in the game. We already had a good glimpse of some off-road racing on dirt bikes and ATVs going on in the released media, as well as some hints for high stakes on-the-road underground circuit competitions too. There’s surely going to be a lot more about this one, since the potential features could be including jet skis, planes and even bicycle races this time around.
Watching TV
One particular moment from the GTA 6 Trailer 2 that caught a lot of attention across all social media shores was of Jason simply watching TV in his home. Similar to GTA V, it seems likely that we would be able to just lean back on the couch, go through some of the available channels and watch fictional entertainment adapted in the world of the game. But that is not everything, some of the fans were able to notice some sort of a gaming console placed next to Jason’s TV, and even a Dual Shock controller on the table. This could be strongly hinting at the possibility for us to actually play some video games inside of the video game, and how cool is that?
Weightlifting Sessions
Earlier we did mention the exercise routine and weightlifting is definitely connected to that same category of in-game GTA 6 side activities, but here the focus is shifted from cardio activities towards muscle gain for your character, as weightlifting is a more difficult and intense one. Getting ripped in GTA VI could mean increased damage output, unlocking more health power, better rep status or just having greater overall endurance, so if you choose to do the work in the gym and lift enough weights, your buffed physical stats could absolutely make a difference in the long run.
With so many possible things to do, the GTA 6 Rockstar hit title would certainly be one to explore with great joy, after all this game has been in the making for so long and it is nearly here. There are probably a lot more things to experience and concepts such as social networks, phone apps and interactive components would further enhance the gameplay for it. The limits of gaming innovation have once again been greatly pushed by Rockstar and their relentless effort to deliver amazing game products just shows us that when it comes to the Grand Theft Auto series, it all is so very much worth it.
